El segundo libro de esta nueva saga de Joe Abercrombie es «Half the World», que tras el primer volumen de «Half a King» continua con la historia Father Yarvi y el destino de las tierras del norte.
Una vez posicionado como consejero en la corte de su madre, Yarvi debe recabar apoyos para un conflicto futuro y recluta una tripulación para viajar al sur e intentar afianzar las relaciones comerciales y buscar apoyos para la guerra. Pero dentro de este contexto y sucesos que influirán a nivel global, el libro se centra en dos personajes que acompañan a Yarvi: Thorn y Brand. Como en todos los libros de Abercrombie, la construcción de personajes resulta exquisita y puede ser el principal activo de la narración. En este caso, además, contrapone dos personalidades bien diferentes y acaba por entrelazar sus destinos en un apasionante relato.

En mi opinión, esta saga es algo menos interesante que las anteriores ambientadas en el mundo de La Primera Ley, pero mantiene un elevado nivel que la hace superior a muchos otros libros del género. Además, en breve saldrá el tercer volumen que concluirá la saga (Half a War) y podremos valorarla en su conjunto. Hace tiempo que decidí que cualquier cosa de Joe Abercrombie es merecedora de ser leída y no dejo pasar ninguna de sus creaciones.
